Description

337781 Safari Rear Door.  337781 has been superceded to RTC6248 which also takes the spare wheel fitment.  It came with holes in the skin and an extra support bracket by the door handle to help with the weight of the spare wheel.

If you require this extra bracket the door to purchase is the early Defender door which may be seen here.  I also has a third hinge ability.

Paintman’s Land Rover Series Rear Safari Door is a British made,  beautifully finished product .

These are the correct 2 hinge rear doors 1958-1984, non spare wheel and unglazed. We also supply rear window fitting kits that can be used to refit the glazed unit from your replacement item. All safari rear doors come pre-etched.

Our Land Rover Series Rear Doors are manufactured to an exacting standard.   The Panels are then etch primed in readiness to accept a topcoat of Paintman Coach Enamel.  The colour of the primer may vary.

They follow closely the design and contour of the original Land Rover OEM part.  British made by craftsmen… its the way we like them.

We fit our all of our own products, we know what an excellent product they are.  There is nothing worse than a poorly fitting product.  Sadly these normally take twice the time to fit and don’t look correct once fitted.  Watch out for pretenders!!

  • Simple spray application – The paint is already blended with the correct amount of thinners, so there’s no measuring or mixing involved.

  • Quick and convenient for panel buyers – Rather than sourcing paint separately, you can now buy both the etch-primed panel and the paint in one go, simplifying your restoration build and ensuring colour-match convenience. We recommend overcoating the etch primer with our filler primer and then topcoat.

When you add one of our Land Rover panels to your basket, you’ll now have the option to include an aerosol as an add-on. This means:

  1. Buy your etch primed panel (e.g. door top, wing)
  2. Select your preferred paint colour and sheen with the aerosol add on.
  3. Receive both in the same delivery – ready for you to prepare, mask up and spray.

It’s ideal for anyone who wants a clean, ready-to-paint panel and doesn’t want the hassle of sourcing paint separately. Great for restorations, repairs or full-panel replacements – and especially useful if you want a good-quality, professional-looking finish with minimal fuss.
