This fuel tank is the military variant which is refuelled under the seat.
They were fitted to all British Military contract Series and Lightweight Land Rovers.
NOTE
British contract Military Land Rover Series and Lightweight fuel tanks are different to Dutch Military contract under Land Rover Series and Lightweight.
Below are the differences so make sure check.
British Fuel Tank, STC613 Employs a larger, vented 2-pin turn-and-lock military cap.
STC613 Modern aftermarket replacements or standard British military units rely on generic exterior fuel neck filters or simple internal pickups.
STC613 Designed for standard sheet metal under-seat positioning, sealing tightly with classic cork or newer rubber gaskets.
Dutch Fuel Tank: uses a significantly smaller fuel cap, Because the cap is smaller, a genuine vintage Dutch military cap will not screw onto or secure properly against the wider neck of a standard aftermarket replacement STC613.
Dutch Pattern: Feature an integrated all-brass filler tube and gauze filter built straight into the sides of the neck. This complete brass assembly was originally designed for anti-spark safety during field refueling.
Dutch Pattern: Often seal directly against a unique black plastic tank-top collar fitting instead of a standard metal-to-rubber gutter seal layout.
If you are doing a restoration on an Ex-Dutch military Land Rover, buying a standard off-the-shelf STC613 from ourselves means the tank itself will bolt into the outriggers correctly, but your original Dutch cap and brass filler neck insert will not fit.
You will either need to source a standard British 2-pin military cap (569006) or adapt a universal cap variant to complete the install.
